Celebrate culture and community at Honolulu Night Market

Honolulu Night Market at Our Kakaʻako returns on Saturday, July 18, from 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. for an evening celebrating local culture, creativity, and kaiāulu.

Bringing together local businesses, food vendors, makers, artists, entertainers, and community organizations, Honolulu Night Market transforms Our Kakaʻako into a vibrant neighborhood gathering that reflects the people, places, and stories that make this community unique.

More than a night market, the event is a reflection of the culture, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit that define Our Kakaʻako. It is an opportunity to support local businesses, discover emerging creatives, connect with neighbors, and celebrate the people and ideas that contribute to the neighborhood’s evolving story.

Community members and visitors alike can enjoy local food, shopping, entertainment, and community experiences throughout the neighborhood while exploring the businesses and gathering spaces that contribute to the district’s evolving identity.

Our Collective Canvas: Cultural Experiences & Free Activities

Poetry of Paʻakai

Poetry of Paʻakai

Crafting Stories of Place

Drawing inspiration from the historic paʻakai beds of Kakaʻako, live typewriter poetry weaves the neighborhood’s rich legacy into unique, handcrafted mementos for you to keep.

Each custom poem encourages guests to reflect on the stories, memories, and connections that continue to shape Our Kakaʻako today.

MADE LIVE Fashion Show

MADE LIVE Fashion Show

Crafting Cultural Expression

Fashion becomes a living canvas as local designers, artists, and models transform ideas into wearable works of art.

The interactive runway celebrates collaboration, creativity, and the evolving talent emerging from Hawaiʻi’s fashion community, while inviting the audience to become part of the creative process.

The show’s central idea is transformation—artists create, designers imagine, models interpret, and the audience helps complete the experience.

Ulana Lau Niu

Ulana Lau Niu

Crafting Connection to ʻĀina

The art of weaving coconut leaves strengthens our connection to ʻāina, inspiring creativity grounded in place and purpose.

By engaging in ulana lau niu, participants see firsthand how ancestral wisdom can turn raw, natural elements into practical and aesthetic treasures.

This cultural practice strengthens connection to place while fostering sustainability, resourcefulness and mālama ʻāina.

Shopping, Food, and Live Entertainment

More than a night market, the event is a reflection of the culture, creativity, and
entrepreneurial spirit that define Our Kakaʻako.

Mākeke Hawaiʻi

Crafting Community

Supporting local businesses helps shape the future of Our Kakaʻako.

We invite guests to explore a collection of locally made goods and designs by Native Hawaiian-owned businesses and locally owned retailers whose products reflect Hawaiʻi’s creativity and cultural spirit.

Every purchase is an opportunity to support local businesses and the people whose traditions, creativity, and aloha continue to make Hawaiʻi a truly special place.

Mea ʻAi Hawaiʻi

Crafting Flavor

Food is one of the most meaningful ways culture is shared.

Each bite celebrates the rich culinary traditions, ʻike, and stories that have sustained Hawaiʻi’s communities for generations, inviting you to experience the islands through mea ʻai.

Mele & Hula

Crafting Connection

Enjoy an evening of live performances that celebrate the role music and hula have in perpetuating, sharing and strengthening our culture and community across generations.

The star-studded lineup includes Kamehameha Schools graduate and Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award-winning singer-songwriter Anuhea, local favorite Johnny Suite, and Kumu Hula Sallie Yoza and Hālau ʻO Nāpualaʻikauikaʻiu.

Performing also are Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award-winning ʻukulele virtuoso and composer Taimane, Native Hawaiian singer-songwriters Bella and Tehani, and Kailua Moon, a Hawaiʻi-based band blending contemporary Hawaiian music with country, Americana, and rock influences.

This year’s entertainment celebrates the sounds and stories that continue to connect generations through mele, hula, and contemporary island music.
