Join us as we care for Our Kakaʻako at our annual Mālama ʻĀina Community Cleanup during Earth Month. The event provides an opportunity to gather, share kuleana to mālama ʻāina, and make a meaningful impact.
Gather your ʻohana and friends to help keep Our Kakaʻako beautiful.
Cleanup Checklist
Please come prepared for spending the morning outdoors! We recommend bringing:
Water in a reusable bottle
Reef-safe sunscreen
A hat
Sunglasses or protective eyewear
Event Schedule
8:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
Check-In
- Check-in will take place at The Barn at SALT at Our Kakaʻako. Volunteers will receive group assignments, supplies, and instructions. Refreshments will be available (while supplies last).
9:00 a.m. – 9:10 a.m.
Welcome and Safety Briefing
- Learn about your kuleana during clean-up and review safety guidelines.
9:10 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Community Cleanup
- Mālama Our Kakaʻako by cleaning up ʻōpala throughout the neighborhood.
- Volunteers will follow assigned routes.
11:00 a.m
- Cleanup Conclusion + Snack Distribution
- Cleanup concludes at Mother Waldron Park, where volunteers will return supplies and receive a light snack (while supplies last).
