1. How does the new parking system work?

Drivers register their vehicle information and payment information once with Metropolis. After registration, drivers can enter and exit Metropolis-managed parking lots without physical tickets, payment kiosks or waiting in line. The system will recognize the vehicle and automatically process payment.

2. Where can I receive parking validation?

Parking validation is available via QR code located at businesses within Our Kakaʻako, such as SALT at Our Kakaʻako, Keawe Retail and Keauhou Lane.

3. Can I pay for parking without signing up for the app?

To pay without signing up for the app, please see the Metropolis staff on duty from 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. daily. During all other hours, drivers may call the numbers at the signage listed at the exits of our parking garages.

4. What are the parking rates and fees?

The first hour of parking is free at SALT at Our Kakaʻako, Flats at Puʻunui and Keauhou Lane. Businesses at SALT at Our Kakaʻako, Keawe Retail and Keauhou Lane also offer parking validation.

Validated Parking:
Under 1 Hour – Free
Up to 2 Hours – $2.00 (taxes and fees apply)
Up to 3 Hours – $3.00 (taxes and fees apply)
Up to 4 Hours – $4.00 (taxes and fees apply)
The standard parking rate, plus taxes and fees, apply after 4 hours of validated parking.

Standard Rates: $3.00 per half hour after the first hour (taxes and fees apply)

The fee is an additional 99 cents or 5% of the parking cost incurred, whichever is greater. It is recommended that customers validate their parking at the end of their visit to businesses in Our Kakaʻako.

5. Will I be charged taxes and fees if my parking is free?

No. There are no taxes or fees for customers whose parking is free, such as those who park for under one hour.

6. How do I update or add the vehicle associated with my account?

Go to metropolis.io/join and use the drop-down menu in the upper left corner to select “vehicles.” Then, add the license plate number.
